You might think that staying at home instead of working would have given me more time to blog, but apparently, that is not the case. The week started off with Little L running a fever on Monday night. I was thrilled that we had Tuesday off because neither husband or I had to take a day off of work. Little L had a runny nose, fever, and was barely eating. My little linebacker can put the food away, so when she doesn't eat, we worry!!!
So, on Tuesday, we took care of a sick baby and D played and played and played with all of her toys. She was so excited to stay in her PJ's all day! We built with Legos, we played with babies, we dressed and undressed Mr (and Mrs) Potato Head, we put together a puzzle, we played trains, and we colored. We did not go outside because the layer of ice on the roads made them dangerous.
Wednesday came along and the novelty of an extra day off was still there. I washed almost every piece of clothing in our house, we cleaned the kitchen, we tidied up, we rearranged some cabinets, and played with the girls. I was starting to get a little tired of being inside, but was trying to keep it together for the girls!
On Thursday, I couldn't take it any more!!! I had to get out of the house for the safety and sanity of my family. We piled into the minivan and drove a fast 22 mph to Target. The parking lot was scary with all of the ice so we stayed inside longer than normal just to stay out of the house. It was wonderful and perfect timing. On Friday it snowed again!!!
This time, I took D out for a little while. We made snow angels, chased each other, attempted to throw snowballs (but the snow wouldn't pack), and collected snow for snow ice cream. Then, we baked all day. We made Challah and cookies and snow ice cream!!! I loved spending the quality time with my oldest daughter and she loved helping.
Then, as the weekend approached, my husband and I both got sick. Husband got sick first (and hardest). We took it really easy over the weekend and are trying to take it easy again today. Hopefully the new week will bring us renewed health.
I hope your snowy adventures were as fun as ours!!
