Just the Way It Goes

I have never wanted to go to work as badly as I have this week.  Nothing exciting is going on at school (other than school-wide testing). There are no exceptionally amazing lessons that I am teaching this week (Of course ALL of my lessons are amazing).  I want to go to work because I am SICK and TIRED of being stuck in the house.  In the last two weeks, we have missed 5 days of school due to snow and ice.  We live in Texas, so it is mainly ice.

My creative juices stopped flowing days ago on how to entertain my children.  We played with play dough, we colored, we baked, we built with legos, we made snow ice cream, we chased each other in the snow, we read books, we played dress up, we played D in a box (we were running out of ideas at this point), and we played with every toy in D's closet.

Because of the major change in routine, the girls' sleep schedule was completely out of whack.  Plus, at some point or another, each and every one of us got sick.  I felt like we were constantly tumbling all over each other and that probably didn't help the germs.  Getting back to work was getting back to sanity.

Little L is still messed up with the sleeping.  It isn't as if she has her days and nights mixed up.  It is more like she isn't really sleeping during either daytime or night time.  Last night, we (and by we I mean husband) were up with her from midnight to 3:30ish.  Her eyes were closed the entire time, but she was fussy and tossing and wouldn't let him put her down.

It is currently 2:03 AM according to my cable box and I have just put her back into her crib again after being up with her since 1.  At least it is getting shorter.
